Sugaring

What Is Sugaring?

Sugaring is an advanced hair removal technique using sugar paste, which is made from three natural ingredients sugar, lemon and water.  The paste has not been tested on animals and has no harmful side effects caused by allergic reactions.  It is so natural you can eat it!

The sugar paste is applied at body temperature making it safe for all areas.  And will not burn your skin!

Sugar cannot adhere to live skin cells, therefore it will extract only the hair and the dead skin cells.  Leaving you feeling silky smooth!  It is gentle enough to go over the same area several times when necessary to extract the shortest and most coarse hair, without causing skin damage or irritation.

Hair is extracted in the natural direction of hair growth; because of this clients feel little if any discomfort.

How is Sugaring different from Waxing?

Sugar paste is easily cleaned up with water, so you will never feel sticky after your treatment VS wax contains chemicals and or resins, and requires chemical solvents to remove it, and you usually leave feeling sticky.

Sugar cannot adhere to live skin cells.  Live cells are wet, and because sugar is water soluble, it will not adhere to live skin cells.  It will extract the hair and exfoliate the dead skin cells.  It is gentle enough to go over the same area several times when necessary to extract the shortest hairs.  VS Wax has been known to remove more than just the hair, since it can adhere to live skin cells.  Wax cannot be applied to the same area more than twice at the most.

Sugar paste is discarded after every treatment, it is never re-used on another person VS the community wax pot… this one doesn't need an explanation ;)

Sugar paste extracts the hair out of the follicle in the natural direction of growth, which helps extract the hair intact VS wax is removed using cloth strips against the direction of hair growth often causing pain, irritation, bruising, and hair breakage.  Wax can have early re-growth as it can leave 15 – 30% hair breakage behind.  This is due to the wax hardening on the hair, therefore the hair has a tendency to break off at the surface, rather than pull it out.

Sugar paste is applied at body temperature making it safe for all areas.  VS wax must be heated to a very high temperature in order to become liquefied, which can result in burning and scarring.

Sugaring requires less than 1/16” or 4 to 7 days growth, after shaving.  VS wax requires at least 2 to 3 weeks growth, after shaving to be waxed.

Sugaring leads to permanency, after a number of treatments the hair follicle begins to deplete.  Because sugar can extract the shortest hair, it is possible to extract the hair in the early anagen (growing) phase, which can lead to permanency.  You will see results after a few treatments.

Extraction of the hairs, at 1/8” or less, on a regular basis leads to permanency!
